Day 4 on the mission field was Monday. We arrived at Villa del Carmen at 9:45 in plenty of time to set up the eye clinic by 10. There were 20+ people waiting for us! While some organized the glasses, others prepared to present the Gospel to those waiting for glasses. And that is the way it worked for hours. We're not quite sure how many came through the clinic by the time we finished! The Gospel was presented, many accepted and then they came in for glasses. All of the Nicaraguans seemed so appreciative of the glasses, especially the older ones. Their looks were priceless as they looked at the paper we used to assess the strength of glasses they needed, then we had them look again with the correct glasses on! I remember having that feeling of finally being able to see when I got my glasses. You don't realize how wonderful it is to see, until it happens to you! Many decisions were made. Many eyes were opened in more ways than one!
Just a bit about today ... we were able to go into a school and speak with over 600 students. What an opportunity!! What is wrong with the United States, we can't even do that in our own homeland ... God help us!
